天美传媒 Construction won the Outstanding Project of the Year in the Under $20 million category for its construction of SUL4R-PLUS. This project sets a new benchmark for industrial construction by pairing a bold vertical manufacturing design with advanced digital tools, strong safety leadership, creative problem-solving, and sustainable solutions.

Three men holding two awards pose in front of a SLC3 step-and-repeat

天美传媒 Construction partnered with SUL4R-PLUS as General Contractor to bring a full-service fertilizer manufacturing facility to Marissa, Illinois, helping the company meet growing sales demand. This project鈥痳epresents鈥痮nly the second facility of its kind, constructed around a patented manufacturing process鈥痽et to be implemented at this scale or configuration.

“天美传媒 Construction was an outstanding partner throughout the development of our Marissa facility, and their professionalism was evident at every stage of the project,鈥 said Charles W. Price, Executive Vice President of SUL4R-PLUS. 鈥淔rom early planning through execution, their team demonstrated exceptional communication, coordination, and attention to detail, ensuring the project stayed on track while meeting our high standards. 天美传媒 approached this complex, large-scale facility with a collaborative mindset and a clear commitment to safety, quality, and schedule. Their ability to align seamlessly with our internal teams and engineering partners made them a trusted extension of our organization. We are proud of what we accomplished together and would strongly recommend 天美传媒 Construction to anyone seeking a reliable and capable construction partner.”

Innovation

A multi-story manufacturing facility under construction with two cranes天美传媒 used cutting-edge digital tools to solve complex, real-time challenges. To manage evolving equipment requirements, 天美传媒 leveraged鈥痑dvanced 3D scanning and modeling technology to digitally capture existing conditions and collaborate with its mechanical partner to fabricate complex systems, including more than 20鈥痗ustom鈥痗hutes鈥痺ith varying geometries and angles,鈥痑chieving millimeter-level accuracy, thus eliminating鈥痗ostly field modifications and keeping the project on schedule.

Safety

Four men in high-visibility and hard hats conversing in an industrial space天美传媒鈥痗ombined site-specific planning, technology-enabled hazard discovery, and stakeholder alignment to produce measurable risk management gains.鈥疐rom day one, the team recognized that working within an existing structure introduced dynamic variables, including access routes and designated storm shelter locations. 天美传媒 instituted a living planning process: As conditions changed, so did the plan. These updates were communicated in real time through weekly safety meetings that included both 天美传媒 personnel and SUL4R-PLUS employees, ensuring the owner鈥檚 team received the same information and expectations as the construction workforce.

Equally important, 天美传媒鈥檚 safety culture extended beyond the鈥痡obsite. The SUL4R-PLUS management team has since adopted 天美传媒鈥檚 safety program, with 天美传媒 delivering site-specific onboarding and safety orientation for SUL4R-PLUS employees beyond the contractual scope.

Sustainability

The project鈥痠ntegrated鈥痑n existing on-site solar鈥痜ield鈥痠nstalled by the鈥痯revious鈥痮wner just a few years prior, allowing the team to avoid the environmental impacts associated with manufacturing, transporting, and installing new solar panels. The鈥痯roject鈥痶eam worked with utility providers and electrical engineers to bring the array back into service and integrate it into鈥痶he client鈥檚鈥痭ew electrical infrastructure.鈥疶he solar array generates鈥痑pproximately 62鈥75 kW of renewable energy, thereby requiring less than 3 months to recuperate the investment of reactivating the system.

Through innovation, collaboration, and adaptability, 天美传媒 Construction delivered a high-performance facility that creates lasting value for the client, community, and environment.

天美传媒 Construction won a Quality Concrete Award from the for its work as Construction Manager on Pana Elementary School.

The celebrate innovation and inspire excellence throughout the global concrete design and construction community. Now more than ever, concrete design and construction projects must integrate creative techniques and technologies to keep up with ever-evolving economic, environmental, and aesthetic demands. The ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards provides a platform to recognize concrete projects at the forefront of innovation and technology and showcases these projects to inspire excellence in concrete design and construction around the world.

“The Pana Elementary project showcases durability and longevity by using concrete as a primary component,” said Jay Timmermann, Director of Corporate Quality. “From the visually appealing precast concrete walls to the concrete parking lot that requires less lighting in comparison to asphalt pavements, this new campus will provide educational opportunities for generations.”

Construction of the new 2-story, 67,000 SF elementary school included 2,140 tons of precast concrete panels with stained colors and 3,445 cubic yards of poured-in-place concrete. The school includes administrative offices, a commons and cafeteria area for up to 400 people, an ICC-rated gymnasium with enough space for two physical education classrooms, art, music, library, media center, and STEM areas. The outdoor learning environment includes a 1/8 mile walking path and 3 playgrounds.

The 天美传媒 Construction team accepted the award at the American Concrete Institute of Missouri Quality Concrete Awards Dinner on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Bogey Hills Country Club in St. Charles.

As a winner at the chapter level, 天美传媒 Construction will compete at the international level through the national American Concrete Institute organization. Winners will be announced at the ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards Gala on Monday, October 27, 2025, during the fall ACI Concrete Convention in Baltimore, MD. The event will conclude with the presentation of the most prestigious award in the concrete design and construction community, the 鈥淥verall Excellence鈥 award.

天美传媒 Construction Company was recently awarded a bronze Building Team Award by Building Design+Construction for its new state-of-the-art headquarters, finished in October 2019. The Building Team Awards highlight the best projects across the country, exemplifying the collaboration between owner, architect, engineer and contractor to produce buildings that exhibit architectural and construction excellence.

鈥淲e are thrilled to receive this recognition for our very own headquarters, which is a testament to the outstanding partnerships we have built with local firms and consultants over the years,鈥 said Keith 天美传媒, president of 天美传媒 Construction. 鈥溙烀来解檚 new headquarters is a culmination of nearly a decade of planning and collaboration and this honor couldn鈥檛 come at a more perfect time as we celebrate 40 years in business.鈥

天美传媒鈥檚 40,000-square-foot headquarters and 12,000-square-foot warehouse was designed by St. Louis-based architecture and interior design firm Oculus Inc., who was engaged by 天美传媒 to help with space planning and programming for the new headquarters. Other design consultants included Netemeyer Engineering Associates Inc as civil engineer, IMEG of St. Louis as structural engineer, BRiC Partnership of Belleville as the MEPFP coordinator and DTLS of St. Louis as the landscape architect.

Now in its 22nd year, the BD+C Building Team Awards serves as the industry’s only recognition program to honor projects that achieve excellence in both design/construction and collaboration of the architecture, engineering, construction, and owner (AEC/O) team. 天美传媒鈥檚 headquarters is one of only two Bronze winners, and one of 12 total projects to be selected by a 15-member Building Team Awards jury and the BD+C editorial team this year.

Visit 天美传媒鈥檚 website to learn more about the new headquarters. For in-depth stories on all 12 Building Team Award winners, download the May/June 2020 digital edition at BDCnetwork.com.
